Founded in 2023, Malabar Group set out to solve a simple problem: property owners deserved better management, and tenants deserved better living experiences. We're building both — powered by technology, driven by relationships.
Malabar Group started when two friends — Prince and Akhil — saw how poorly rental properties were being managed in the Guelph tri-city area. Owners were losing money to vacancies. Tenants were dealing with slow maintenance. Communication was nonexistent.
We decided to build something different. A property management company that combines the responsiveness of a tech startup with the personal touch of a local business.
Today, we manage over 50 rooms across Guelph, Cambridge, and Kitchener. Our owners enjoy 98% rent collection rates and real-time visibility into their investments. Our tenants — many of them international students — enjoy responsive, WhatsApp-first communication and well-maintained homes.
